“R.I.P. Traditional Media. New Ways to Communicate Europe”

The development of new media represents a great opportunity to change the way European Union communicates. The decreasing participation to the European parliamentary elections showed the lack of interest on the part of citizens towards the EU and the traditional media has proved to be insufficient to properly reach the European citizens to restore their interest and encourage them to participate.

Thanks to the new technology, internet users have now the possibility to share information, knowledge and creativity in an easier way. This interactive tool also created an opportunity for a new relationship between European citizens and institutions. We are in an era where MEPs started to spread their messages and get feedbacks through their Blogs and Twitter accounts.
